Code of Ethics
Apply UK is committed to providing independent, ethical, and professional guidance to students and families considering study in the UK.
This Code of Ethics sets out the principles that guide all work undertaken by Apply UK.
1. Independence and integrity
Advice is provided on a fee-for-service basis and is not influenced by commissions, referral fees, or commercial relationships with universities or other education providers. Guidance is based solely on the student’s academic goals, personal context, and practical circumstances.
2. Honesty and transparency
Apply UK provides advice that is honest, realistic, and clear, including where options may not be suitable or outcomes uncertain. The scope of services, responsibilities, and limitations are explained clearly so that expectations are aligned from the outset.
3. Student-centred approach
The student’s best interests are central to all guidance. Advice is tailored to individual needs and supports students to make informed decisions that are right for them. Apply UK respects the student’s autonomy and supports them to take responsibility for their own choices and applications.
4. Professional boundaries
Apply UK operates within clear professional and regulatory boundaries. This includes not submitting applications, not writing statements on behalf of students, and not providing regulated immigration advice.
5. Fairness and respect
Apply UK treats all students and families with fairness, respect, and cultural sensitivity. Discrimination, bias, or unfair treatment on any grounds is not tolerated.
6. Confidentiality and data protection
Personal information is handled with care and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. Confidentiality may be breached only where there is a safeguarding concern or legal obligation to do so.
7. Safeguarding and wellbeing
Apply UK is committed to safeguarding the welfare of children and young people and to working in a way that promotes student wellbeing. Concerns are taken seriously and addressed responsibly, in line with the Safeguarding Policy.
8. Ongoing reflection and improvement
Apply UK commits to maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the UK higher education sector and reflecting on practice to ensure guidance remains appropriate, ethical, and effective.
